Volunteering Opportunities in St. Albert

Become A Member

By purchasing a membership you are supporting our volunteers in their efforts to maintain and cultivate a living jewel in the heart of our community. As a member you will receive a SABP membership card that you can show at some local businesses (such as greenhouses) to receive a discount.  A full list of participating businesses is available from the SABP office.

Annual membership fees are:

$15 for an individual
$20 for a couple
$25 for a family

Become A Volunteer Member

By purchasing a membership you are also eligible to become a volunteer at the park. The park is a great place to meet people, make new friends, share talents and learn.  The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes from creating and enjoying a beautiful space is indescribable!

We have volunteers of all ages with a wide range of skills and interests. If you are interested in helping out we have a place for you, no matter how much time you have to share with us. Most of our volunteers come twice a week but any time given is greatly appreciated.

As an active volunteer, you are eligible for additional member benefits based on the number of recorded volunteer hours you contribute to the operation and governance of the Society and the Park.  Member benefits include but are not limited to:

    • Discounts on the rental of the John Beedle Centre and other areas of the park
    • Growing your own vegetables in the trial garden
    • Purchasing perennial plants at a discounted price
    • Discounts at some local businesses

Specific details about the volunteer hours required for individual benefits are available on request.

The St. Albert Botanic Park has flourished because people have given their time and talents to build a beautiful botanic garden in this city.
