Making our Park accessible to all

The St. Albert Botanic Park is a beautiful five acre botanical garden that has grown into what it is today thanks to the time, effort and financial support provided by community members and garden lovers alike.

Over the years volunteers have constructed paths from the gazebo through Crabapple Lane, the Cottage Garden and the Restful Garden.

This has allowed easier access for visitors with strollers, walkers, wheelchairs or others with mobility challenges.  Often missed during their visit were the outstanding and colourful displays of Asiatic Lilies, Daylilies, Iris and Lilacs. These along with our collection of pines, the Habitat Garden and numerous trees and shrubs are all located in the west Park where we did not have a paved path.

Construction of Memory Lane in the West Park, 2022

The St. Albert Botanic Park began an Engraved Brick Campaign in spring of 2021 to raise funds to complete a brick pathway in the west end of the Park so that everyone could access this beautiful area. The construction of this path was completed in August 2022.  We sincerely thank everyone who purchased bricks and helped complete this project. To see more about this project, click here.
